Council Member, At-Large

Councilman Matt Cherry was appointed to his current at-large seat on October 28, 2025 to fill the term that concludes on December 31, 2025. Previously, Councilman Cherry was appointed to Toledo City Council as the District 2 representative on January 2, 2014 after former Mayor D. Michael Collins was elected as Mayor. From there, Councilman Cherry continued to serve District 2 until he was term-limited, leaving office in December 2023. He also served as Council President from 2018-2023.

Councilman Matt Cherry serves as a member of the Parks, Education, Recreation & Health Committee, Intergovernmental & Administrative Services Committee, Public Safety & Criminal Justice Reform Committee, Regional Growth, Development & Small Business Enterprise Committee, and Zoning & Planning Committee.
