Project Overview
The City of Toledo will resurface the intersection of Douglas and Monroe in 2026. This project includes a number of safety improvements, including:
- Realigned pedestrian ramps to shorten crossing distance
- Updated signals and striping to increase safety
- New median islands at the north, east, and west legs of the intersection
- New "Prepare to Stop When Flashing" signage on Douglas Rd.

Funding
The funding for this project is combined with the funding for the Cherry St. and Bancroft St. intersection. The total cost for both this resurfacing and the Cherry and Bancroft reconstruction project is $2.4 million.
These projects are supported by the state of Ohio.
