Happening Now

Crews began working on the sanitary sewer relocation the week of April 28. We anticipate beginning the reconstruction of the road and the parking lot in June.

Project Overview

The City is working with Washington Local Schools to shift the location of Whitmer Dr. and the parking lot. Whitmer Dr. will move west and the parking lot will move east. The intersections at Tremainsville and Alexis will also relocate, and the intersection at Alexis will have Herst as part of the intersection.

Whitmer Dr. and Alexis Rd. at Herst Rd.

The intersection at Whitmer Dr. and Alexis Rd. will be realigned and meet with Herst Rd. This will be a four-way lighted intersection with enhanced pedestrian crossings.

Roundabout at Edgar St.

The Roundabout at Edgar St. will reduce traffic speeds on Whitmer Dr. It also includes a raised crosswalk and pedestrian island to make crossing safer for students.
