Happening Now
Crews will begin construction on Water St. the week of April 7. The City of Toledo has contracted with Geddis Paving and Excavating, Inc.
We will begin with the watermain which will take approximately 7 weeks to complete. Following the watermain installation, we will install a new storm sewer. Around mid-July we will begin the new multi-use path. We expect the project to complete in early November 2025.
There will be access to Water St. through the duration of the project. However, there will be no street parking from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Project Overview
In partnership with Metroparks, the city will reconstruct Water Street from the MLK bridge to Olive Street. We will narrow Water Street, add a multi-use path connecting the Riverwalk to an existing path on Olive Street, and widen the sidewalk on Summit from Bush to the Craig Street Bridge to accommodate cyclists.
